Having felt an earthquake before, a small tremor, I wouldn't want to be in places where the people receive full impact of the quakes. My experience was not scary but surreal in a sense my brain was telling me something and I was feeling something else. I know my house is solid but my senses of touch and feeling was telling me that I was like sitting on a big piece of jelly.
Speaking of surreal, I had two experiences involving every ones favourite fried chicken restaurant chain. During the recent Hari Raya, my students Crab, Prawn and I were in BJ Complex for looking for food. We settled on the obvious choice, somewhere we all can agree too. So there we were enjoying our meal of chicken rice when I found a hair in my soup. Least to say they were shocked.
I called for the manager who apologised profusely and offered to bring me another new soup. By now both Crab and Prawn were laughing real hard. Prawn joked that I might find another hair in the new soup. I was in no mood for another tasty delicious hair soup, I declined. We continued with our lunch. Just as we were about to leave the manager came back, and with a smile, she plopped a box of fried chicken on the table. Smilling ever so sweetly, she said sorry, again.
The next experience wasn't so nice, I had went to the restaurant too buy some fried chicken and found myself shortchanged and without a receipt. Only when I threatened to see the manager, that I managed to get back my correct changed. Earlier when I was queuing, I saw the staff say goodbye to him. This leads me to suspect, it is their tactic to pull this game whenever the boss is not around.
Hey, it was not about the few ringgit but more of the Principal. Imagine taking just one ringgit from a hundred customers everyday!
Anyway, I can't believe Deepavali is here and my birthday is just a week a way! I wonder how old I'll be this year. Last year I was 18! LOL.
