I wrote about dinosaurs and the fact that they may still be alive and I think I might have scared my downstairs neighbour doing the Oppa Gangnam Style which was more Boom Boom Dino Style. If you know me personally I am hardly what you call petite unless a sack of potatoes has suddenly become the norm for the size. I was prancing here and there to the music and generally having fun. Then I reliased that I might not be behaving like a good neighbour.

Hey...angry neighbour..oops BOOM BOOM Dino Style.
Currently the Korean wave is hitting Malaysia like a cultural Tsunami, from Samsung to some song..K-pop that is. Malaysian youths are now singing the Korean songs with aplomb. For I am still apprehensive of Kimchi, darn it I was getting used to MISO and before that flavours from Thailand. Korean BBQ, I've tried it once... somehow I have no memory of it. That and I didn't eat much. I miss Japanese food and Thai food, for my fixes I go to Tao and Japin for the former and eat the latter at home.

Speaking of food, America is facing OBCT... I mean obesity problems. How can anyone in America stay slim when they are the ones that invented "SUPERSIZE"? And now there's a report in today's CNN report that the Americans are served pasta that has over 3000 calories!!!!
Here are some examples of what they call a meal.

It is served with a lemon sauce, mashed potatoes and fresh asparagus.According to CSPI, it also has 2,610 calories, more than a 12-piece bucket of original recipe Kentucky Fried Chicken, and 4½ days' worth of saturated fat.

Recently, I've come across some material that could possibly prove that dinosaurs are still living among us. I mean not literally downtown Georgetown or strolling down Gurney Drive but in places such as Africa. Did the scientist get it wrong? Could it be that we are talking about Dragons? There are legends about Dragons almost throughout the world. It would make sense that we could find evidence of their existence.

Being a comic book fan all my life, I was always disappointed with the movie renditions of my fav. superhero. Although we cannot blame the limited technology they had in the past, a comic book hero deserves better treatment. Don't get me started about the Transformers movies by Michael Bay, horrendous. Some may argue that Spiderman and Fantastic Four were good, I don't dispute this but they weren't GREAT were they? Some scenes maybe....X-men included but the one that really had my gears grinding was the Avengers.

Have you seen it? Really seen it? It's awesome on many levels. First the actors, I like everyone except Fury who BTW should be white. I am not a racist but FOLLOW the comic book...SHEESSH.. But that's just a small matter. Samuel L. Jackson is in too many of my fav. movies.. I tend to get dizzy. In StarWars he is Master Windu and then in another show he's ...... LOL. Next, there's Loki. He has charisma, charm and a decadent and devilish attitude. Unlike the Joker (Heath Ledger) He exudes class and evilness without the clown make-up.

The banter, what you would call chit-chat was very amusing among our heroes. It can be as long as Loki's speech or as short as Hulk's favourite two words "Hulk Smash". Then we have the Widow who's looks is matched by her skill in interrogation. Hawkeye had my vote for my latest favourite superhero, loved his arrows. Finally the CGI, what can I say but just wow, wow and wow! We had a whale like bio-mechanical troop carrier coming out of the dimensional hole only to be met by a knuckle sandwich from our green skinned gamma giant! Fantastic!

I don't know about you. I can't wait for more.
Recent news paper article claimed that scientists say there is increased belief in the possibility of discovering alien life, following revelations that 50% of stars throughout the universe have planets similar to Earth orbiting them.

(view from the ISS or International Space Station)

How cool is that? But then again, would the aliens be friendly? Professor Stephen Hawking believes that that aliens might simply raid Earth for its resources and then move on: “We only have to look at ourselves to see how intelligent life might develop into something we wouldn’t want to meet. I imagine they might exist in massive ships, having used up all the resources from their home planet. Such advanced aliens would perhaps become nomads, looking to conquer and colonise whatever planets they can reach.”

Can you believe this guy then? He claims to have knowledge on the UFOs and aliens. Like what I was saying in class, the US government knows but doesn't tell. 'I believe in UFOs - and I've seen them', says ex-Canadian defence minister Paul Hellyer - Daily Mail - Feb 25, 2011, He goes on to add that UFOs are real, aliens have visited Earth and the US government is covering up information about them.'

Conclusion? It is a possibilty that life exist outside our own solar system. Will they be friendly, let's wait and find out.Teacher Jasonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05500001166647018529noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5775164874215543953.post-53576075662967741482010-10-31T08:51:00.001-07:002010-10-31T08:58:38.335-07:00THE REASON I TEACHThis is one of the many tributes I have received over the years as a teacher. It keeps me motivated to do what I do. We hold the keys to the success of the children and I am glad I am a teacher.

Today, I was named "BEST TEACHER" again, this time for the month of October. Three times in a row makes it even more wonderful. It has made me realise that I have an impact on the students.

Thank you, those who voted. The poor critter was either beaten or run over by a car, I don't know which. What I did know that it was in pain, it needed help. My mum had spotted the golden brown colour dog limping around last Tuesday and had asked my sister and I to feed it. At first we didn't want to do it but mum was adamant and we gave in.

The dog given the name Goldie by my mum, she had a broken leg with the bone sticking out of her left leg. She seemed to be responding fine to my "special cocktail" of antibiotics and pain killlers in milk. I have experience dealing with dogs so treating Goldie was no different so I thought. I had just finished Friday class and came home to find Goldie hungry.

I was hungry too but I made a trip to the local hypermarket to buy some roast chicken for the dog. I came back and fed it together with milk and other stuff. After she had finished her meal, she laid down on her side. I used this opportunity to try to set the bone back into the body. Bad idea? It must have hurt and she tried to bite me. I pulled my had away but it wasn't fast enough.

I had teeth pierce my finger and graze the sides of some fingers. OUCH! I should have gotten shots for Rabies and Tetanus but I didn't. I am okay.... I guess.

Take care! I am thinking of making T-shirts and other things with my drawing too!

Okay... enough chatting. Most people have heard about Bangkok's famous floating market but not the market here in Hatyai. It a place a little outside the city limits on the way to the Big C Hypermarket. You can drive here like I did or take a tuk-tuk from the city center but be sure to negotiate the price first.

The market itself can be divided into to unique areas, by the river and riverside jetty. While the riverside area feels like a flea market with makeshift stalls and tents, the jetty, on the other hand is a virtual buffet table by the river.

(by river with stalls in the background)

To get to the "floating buffet", you must go down a flight of makeshift stairs to get down to the riverside jetty. It's like a tradition for my family to spend our CNY holidays here. In contrast to Penang during the festive season, Hatyai is a picture of calm despite the chinese influence on its local Thai culture, it's buisness as usual. That is until the 2nd or 3rd day of CNY rolls around. It's time for the traders gear up to meet the tourist swarm head on.

Lo and behold, busses, vans and an assortment of cars of all shape and sizes descend onto this quiet town. Malaysians and Singaporeans alike cameras a snapping and people a buzzing, buying, eating and taking pictures of everything in sight. I even saw a girl posing with a traffic light! No kidding, it was outside Rama Hotel opposite a 7-Eleven.

I must confess that I am no better, I have picutres of me outside 7-11... with coffee in my hand. :P In my defence, don't you think taking a picture with a traffic-light is kind of .... weird? If not, my bad. Hopefully you see the humour in it as I do.
